I am certified in early childhood education. I currently teach 3rd grade in a public school. I have taught 3rd grade for 4 years, but also have experience in K-2. I am passionate about developing strong and confident readers. I have a Master's degree in reading. I can support learners with the development of phonemic awareness, phonics skills, reading fluency, vocabulary development, and reading comprehension. I will support learners in achieving their goals by planning instruction to support their individualized needs.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I think establishing positive relationships is an essential element for learning. Once a relationship is established, I assess the needs of the learner. Assessment data is then used to drive my instruction to target the skill deficits and needs of the learner.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a BA in early childhood education/ early childhood special education. I also have an MA in reading. I am continuously developing my skills as an educator through professional developments.

I have worked with high needs students in a public school setting. I have also worked with students with special needs.
