K-12 Science Tutoring
About
This middle school science teacher from Az decided that she did not want to give up on the academic achievement of her students in the classroom, but wanted to expand her knowledge to others across the nation. This then started the passion for educating anyone around the country or world perhaps. Hello my name is Claire and I am a middle school science teacher, I have taught professionally for 3 years and have tutored for almost 2 of those years. Before going through schooling to become a teacher I had immense amount of experience with children as young as 6 months old to high school seniors in different capacities. I have my bachelors in elementary education and special education. I also have a special endorsement for middle school science instruction.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I usually try to see where they are academically first by giving a screener depending on past standards that they should have been taught. This gives me some data to look over and see where I can fill in the gaps. If it is strictly for organizational or hw support I usually ask what platform their professors are requiring them to submit on so that way I can support them fully with their work and organizational skills.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am currently a 7th and 8th grade science teacher and have been for the past 3 years. I also have tutored for about 2 years on top of teaching full time. Before I was a teacher I worked with children 6 months to senior in high school in different capacities. I have my bachelors in elementary and special education along with an endorsement for middle school science.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students as young as 5 to about middle school age for science. I have worked with special education students and understand Az state laws that protect those students in the academic setting.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Look at the credentials and experience within the subject and grade level.
