My tutoring service is very individualize and personal. First, we find your level of understanding and knowledge, then build upon that primary foundation. Learning and cognitive development is a process that takes time and energy. I enjoy seeing my students take on appropriate challenges and then prosper in their new confidence of knowing that he/she is capable. "Learning is Fun", is a chant which reflects how I want learning with with my insturction to feel. I also enjoy learning my students perspective on topics and learning.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
The student will share their personal interests. We will talk about the school classes they enjoy and do not enjoy in the classroom setting. I ask these questions, " How can my tutoring help you with your school work?" "What is your favorite and least favorite supject and why?"
During the free consultation, I will take an hour and ask the childe to complete a series of short tasks that I then evaluate as to grade level, quickness to respond, penmanship or typing abilities along with stamina to stick with an assignment. Speaking, Reading, Writing and Math skills are evaluated.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Nova Univercity ESOL Certification English as a Second Language
30 years of experience in the public schools with students from Kindergarten to 6th grade.
15 of these years include working with ESOL students exclusively. I also honed my skills by supporting special education and visiually impaired students.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I am currently charging $50.00 an hour while I am online with your student. This includes specific lesson planning work that I do for your childs specific learning needs. It usually take about an hour to prep before each lesson. I give immediate feedback to the parents after the lesson. This is done via email or text. If you have a learning plan for me to follow then I will charge $40.00 an hour. There is no contract and you may use my services as long as needed and cancel at anytime. The consultation with the parent and student are free. If I am not able to assit your child, I will certainly let you know immediately.
