About

I am a PhD student in Optical Engineering, so I have a strong grasp of mathematics all the way from the basics to Calculus and beyond. In the same vein, learning math did not always come easy to me, so I understand how hard math can be, but with perseverance and my help I know we can succeed together!

The best part of tutoring to me is working through a hard problem and seeing the light in a student's eyes when they have worked hard and succeed. Helping others learn has always been a passion of mine and after my PhD I even plan on trying to become a professor to reach this goal.

    Frequently asked questions

First I like to see how a student learns so I will ask them to try and solve a problem they know how to do and walk me through it. Then I will move on to a problem they are struggling with and help them using the same methods that they are familiar with. I will do this back and forth until I have found a style that works best for the student.

I have a Masters and B.S in Optical Engineering which is a very math heavy field and as such have a very firm grasp on the subject.

    I charge $30/hour and $20/half hour.

I have tutored several times, including creating my own lesson plans for a physics course, and TAing an optics lab.

I have worked mostly with college level students; however I have also helped many friends and family through all ages.
