About
I have a background in IT, including 8-years of industry experience. I also do editing of scientific articles for publication for SiO2 Innovates. In addition, I tutor students ranging from middle school to graduate school in English, writing, and computer literacy. I spend a great deal of time working with people for whom English is their second language. As such, I have experience in helping bilingual students to improve their English speaking and writing. I know how to make learning fun for students at all levels, and I look forward to working with you!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First, I talk to the student to determine their goals. I ask the student to show me what they are struggling with, and then I have the student show me how they usually approach the problem. From there, I will assess the student's strengths and weaknesses to create a custom approach to helping the student to reach his/her goals.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have training in TPR (Total Physical Response) for English as a Second Language. I have a B.S in Earch and Space Exploration from Arizona State University, and I have 8-years of industry experience in IT.

How did you get started teaching?
I started by tutoring my classmates, my younger sister, and my friends.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with children from toddler age to high school. I have also tutored college students up to the graduate level.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Child Crisis Arizona recently had a science event for young children. I went with my friend and her 4-year old daughter. She had a great time making straw rockets (a big hit with the kids) and coloring in pictures of planets. They had scales the kids could weigh themselves with to see what they would weigh on different planets. I loved that the event had interactive exhibits the kids could participate with. It kept them engaged, and they had a great time.
