English Made Easy
About
The most important lesson I learned as a teacher is that there is no substitute for the effectiveness achieved in one on one tutoring. While a classroom environment is necessary, twenty, thirty, or even forty students simply do not learn the same way, which is why it is essential to seek tutoring when a student is struggling. Whether it be essay writing, comprehending Homer's Odyssey, or simply trying to grasp sentence structure, I can provide tailored assistance that meets each specific student's learning needs. I began my post-highschool academic career at The United State Military Academy in West Point, New York, and finished my undergraduate career with a degree in English Literature from Hillsdale College. Following graduation, I taught English for two years in Queen Creek, Arizona. Not only do I have a passion for literature and the English language; perhaps more importantly, I love helping students grasp these concepts to the point where they begin to enjoy it as well.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
This largely depends on which specific areas the student is seeking to improve. However, my general process begins by identifying the student's current level of understanding/competence in reading, writing, or sentence structure simply through conversation. Following that, I have a series of basic exercises that I ask the student to work with me on, and the difficulty of those exercises is contingent on how the previous conversation went. Again, this process varies depending on each student's needs.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a degree in English Literature, and I taught English at the high school level for two years. Although my teaching experience was at the high school level, I also excel in assisting with college level writing.
