Interactive Math Tutoring
About
I am passionate about helping students learn and grow, and I have an interactive approach to tutoring through collaborative learning. I believe in working alongside students and allowing them to learn from their mistakes to become more experienced problem-solvers.
I have a degree in mathematics, and I minored in math education. In high school, I tutored my peers in algebra, geometry, trig, and pre-calculus. In college, I tutored Calculus and gained experience teaching middle school math classes.
I have experience working and learning online, so I can be very accommodating during this time of uncertainty with COVID-19 and am eager to navigate online tutoring with students and parents for the best experience possible.
I enjoy working with all students of diverse age ranges and backgrounds. Not only do students enhance my own learning, but I am passionate about creating a safe environment where students feel comfortable to push themselves and their learning abilities. I believe in the growth mindset, which means that everyone has the ability to succeed in anything they put their minds to, including mathematics!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
With a new student, I start off learning about their interests, backgrounds, and experience with math. I also allow them to get to know me so that they feel comfortable to ask me any questions. Not only do I want to enhance their learning in mathematics, but I also want to help them be the best well-rounded learners they can be.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been a private tutor for over 4 years, along with tutoring calculus at Northern Arizona University.
I have a bachelor's degree in mathematics with a minor in math education.
I have experience in lesson-planning and teaching in middle school classrooms.
I have also been a volunteer Young Life leader for over 6 years, which has given me experience interacting and building relationships with middle school and high school students.
