Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
The student would first send me a list of up to three topics they would like to cover beforehand as well as a series of questions they would like help on (e.g. homework, test prep, etc.). Prior to each lesson, I will review the material myself and gather a selection of resources and practice problems pertaining to the topics. During each 60-minute lesson, we will start with a 15-25 minute lecture to cover each of the topics, 15-20 minutes to cover practice problems, and allocate the remaining time to answering the student's questions. I also create comprehensive study guides along with each class session pertaining to the topic. The student is allowed to keep all of the materials after each class session, including but not limited to practice problems, worksheets, and study guides.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am currently a student at the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School of Business studying economics (with a concentration in finance and management) as well as computer science. In high school, I took a total of 17 AP (Advanced Placement) courses and received a perfect score of 5 on 14 exams, including AP Calculus BC, AP Computer Science A, AP Chemistry, AP Physics C: Mechanics, and AP Physics C: Electricity and Magnetism. Furthermore, I obtained perfect scores on the SAT Math II and the SAT Chemistry exams. As a 2-time U.S. Chemistry Olympiad Semifinalist, I obtained one of the highest scores on the USNCO exam. I'm currently a summer Teaching Assistant at the University of Washington's AI4ALL program and have also had extensive experience teaching math, computer science, physics, and English.

What types of students have you worked with?
Ages from 4 years old to adults. I've taught chess for over four years, in both group and private settings. I also run a series of coding workshops for middle-school students and have tutored students in the subject areas of math (up to Calculus), physics, chemistry, history, and computer science.
