I am a certified teacher who wants to expand beyond the regular classroom in order to help as many children as I can. I have a specialty with speech and writing, but I also love working with elementary and middle school subjects.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First time I meet a student, I talk with him/her to find out what he/she likes about school, hates about school, can do well, and doesn't do well. I find out what he/she thinks is the reason why he/she is really great or not good at a certain subject. After that, I find out where he/she is in the class/subject and what he/she would like to see out of the tutoring. I then devise a plan to get him/her up to date and study methods that might appeal to his/her style of learning.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a certified teacher in Speech and Drama. I also have experience as a substitute teacher and a long term substitute teacher from Kindergarten to 12th grade. I also have written and published my own books that show my experience with writing and grammar/spelling skills.
