I love tutoring math and helping students succeed in their classes. I have been teaching and tutoring math for over 30 years. Most of my experience is with developmental algebra and college algebra at the community college and college levels. I also tutor trigonometry and business calculus.
I love when a student understands a concept, when it clicks, and I can share that moment with them. I love seeing students succeed. It is really gratifying to see a student go from struggling with math to understanding math.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
We introduce ourselves to each other. They tell me a little bit about themselves and the class they are taking and the help they are needing. We do a few problems together so that I can see where the student is understanding and where they are needing more explanation or clarification.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a BA and an MA in mathematics. I also got my secondary teacher certification in mathematics, although I have not kept it current. I have been teaching and tutoring pre-algebra, algebra, trigonometry, and business calculus at the college and community college level for over 30 years. I have also taught ACT prep classes to high school juniors and seniors.
