About

I have always had a passion for the sciences, I enjoy them a lot. I specifically have interest in the health sciences. I also have knowlege in basic business courses. I am currently in my second year of college, but hours place me at a Junior Classification. I am double majoring in exercise science, concentration in Athletic Training as well as Health Service Administration. I would be glad to help and high schoolers with any high school courses as well as freshman and sophomore college students with their courses.

Frequently asked questions

I will get to know the student, figure out how they best learn, and find their biggest struggles. Then we will come up with a game plan and a schedule that revolves around how much time is left in the class and how much help they need. We will touch base as often as needed, which would be determined by the plan that we build together. I will always be available by text, and by phone during certain hours, which would be given to the student. After a few weeks we will re-evaluate our plan to be sure that it is working well and make any adjustments as needed.

High school: graduated with honors and a GPA at a 4.2, Sports medicine program completion. AP Classes.

College: currently a junior by hours with an institutional GPA of a 4.0, Basic science and health classes completed, basic business courses, some upper level courses completed as well.

Depending on the level of the coursework fees could increase or decrease. Hourly fee minimum- $10. Hourly fee Maximum- $30.

These are subject to change, but you will be notified with ample time to make adjustments.

In high school I would help my classmates with the coursework when they didn't understand. In many of my science and math classes when we had substitutes, I would be listed on the sub plans to help explain work to the class if the subs didn't have knowledge of the subjects. I would help my sisters with their work after school. In college I have been helping my classmates when they have questions and I help my sorority sisters when they are confused with classes, sometimes classes that I don't have.

I have worked with all kinds of students, from very young to older than me. Students that learn by audio, visual, and by touching/doing. I have worked with students with ADD/ADHD and have found good ways to refocus them when needed, every student is different though so sometimes figuring out a schedule is more difficult than others.

Look for a teacher/tutor that you can connect with, if you dont think you would feel confident reaching out at all hours of the day, just because you have a question or if you don't think you would listen to them when they are trying to help, then it probably would not be a good match. A few test sessions may be necessary before you commit completely to one tutor. If you need help in multiple areas, see if the tutor has knowledge in all of those, it would prevent you from having to have multiple teachers, and you could switch from subject to subject as needed to help keep your brain working and from tiring out of one subject during sessions.

They should try to have an idea of what they need to gain out of this, if it is just knowledge retention (such as remembering things long term for future courses) versus understanding material, versus passing the class. The teacher needs to know what the student is looking for, that way plans can be catered to goals. Also knowing if they learn better by hearing, seeing or doing is a big help and can help tailor plans that fit the students needs.
