I have helped students from the age of three years all the way to adult, and what I find is that when the light goes on behind a student's eyes because of my help, I have attained one of life's greatest satisfactions. Age should not be a deterrent to the deliverance of information. The arrival at understanding can be found in the application of truth. To be happy with another's success is easy for me.
A teacher who knows what the student knows has the foundation upon which to build the edifice that is the student's success. To speak to the experience of the student is to create an environment of welcome, safety, and encouragement. When I learn about a student's truths, I am able to use them to help the student through the lesson.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I spend about five minutes learning what the student wants to share about his or her personal life and then I ask about educational goals. I ask for assignment schedules, deadlines, and details. I am a firm believer in modeling so I ask the student to observe an example lesson. I also use retention techniques. At the end of every session I will not dismiss the student without scheduling the next session.
