What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I begin with an initial free assessment to get to know the student and determine their goals, then schedule sessions based on what we learn about each other.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have an Associate in Applied Science in Education degree with the Teacher Preparation Sub-Plan, and have nearly completed my Bachelor of Arts in English. I have tutored and taught students from preschool to high school.
How did you get started teaching?
I began my teaching career 12 years ago as a homeschool parent. I taught my own children then branched out to teaching multiple children at a homeschool co-op program.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with early education, home school, traditional school, online high school, and special needs students.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Don't be afraid to ask the teacher questions. We want to have good, open communication to help you achieve your goals.
