Hope Tutoring

I served as an Academic Interventionist and Dyslexia Specialist for 15 years until I retired in 2017 from Mountain Brook Elementary. I have taught grades 2-8 as a regular education teacher and taught special education as well. I am an Orton Gillingham certified tutor and have successfully tutored students for 5 years. I provide

multi sensory reading instruction for Dyslexic and struggling readers. I have a Master’s in both Elementary and Special Education.

At the first session, I assess the student and reading interferences will be identified. Then I develop an individualized plan to address reading interferences which I share with their parents. interferences and improve student's reading.

Specialized instruction in the areas of phonemic awareness, phonics, sight word memorization, syllable types, syllabication, fluency and spelling will be provided during tutoring sessions. Tutoring is available for grades K-6.
