Key Educational Services
About
I have been teaching for 20 years. I received my undergraduate degree from Auburn University and my Master’s Degree in Special Education from Jacksonville State University. One of my roles as a special education teacher is to ensure mastery of basic math facts because those facts are crucial when trying to understand higher math skills. I mainly work with elementary age children but am capable of helping struggling readers of any age.
I am well versed in finding unique ways to reach my students. I realize that there is more than one way to teach material and what works for one student may not work for another. My goal is to find out what works for each one of my students and to tailor the curriculum towards that student’s particular strengths. As I work with students I want to do more than just help with completing homework assignments. It is my goal to identify and address areas of weakness. We will work to develop word attack skills, comprehension strategies, and math problem solving skills that students can use now and in future educational efforts.
