Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I would love to get to know eachother and their typical style of writing. I am very social and love to crack a few jokes here and there, but progress is my priority. We will develop a professional relationship and get comfortable with making mistakes.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a Communications major in college. I am concentrating in Journalism, therefore making me credible to revising and editing. I have worked with many of my peers in helping them revise and complete their essays.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I would charge $10 by the hour, but that can be up for discussion as the tutoring progresses. There would be no charge for meetings that are missed, unless there is communication from the student.
How did you get started teaching?
I never officially started teaching, until my senior year of highschool. I offered free tutoring through my school.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students at the same academic level as myself and higher. I have taught up to undergraduate freshman college level.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I would tell the student that it would not be a bad option to work with someone who has a higher credibilty. But I can promise that our tutoring sessions will be stress-free, and a place to be comfortable. I am also a student, so I understand the anxiety and pressure of trying to create a perfect essay.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Students should think about how far are they willing to commit to their academics to see the grades they desire. They should think of their work ethic and see what needs to be improved in order to be successful. I am willing to work with students who are struggling to make this transition and help guilde them using the tips and tricks that helped me.
