About
I am former high school science teacher and epidemiologist. I graduated from Auburn University with a degree in Microbiology and Psychology and have an Master's Degree in Epidemiology. I enjoy helping others and teaching them new things. I have 4 years of teaching experience and love teaching. I have taught 7-12th Grade. I have taught Biology, Chemistry, Physical Science, AP Chemistry, Pre-Algebra and Algebra. My biggest strength is being able to simplify complex material and build a foundation for students to learn. I always make sure to let students know they are more than capable of doing the work and encourage them to never give up. I believe anyone can learn anything if they put their mind to it.
I enjoy tutoring because of the one on one lessons. It allows me to have a a better understanding of the student and focus on what they need to learn; you don't get the same attention in a classroom setting. Tutoring allows for more of a controlled environment which results in less distractions. Every lesson I will prepare a work sheet that focuses on the basics and then build up to the more advanced and complicated problems. I show students how to approach problems in various ways in order to get "the big picture". I feel I am able to get any student to understand just about anything they want as long as they are willing to put the work in.
I love helping others succeed and learn about science and math! I look forward to helping you or your child.
