Math And Science Tutoring By Michael Cullinan
About
I am an aspiring 6-12 science teacher, willing to travel and work with your child in a supportive manner in order to help achieve their academic goals. I enjoy helping less motivated students reach their potential. Not that long ago, I was in their shoes and with help found the joy in learning what had been challanging subjects. I'm willing to travel anywhere in the Mountain Brook/Homewood/Vestavia/Irondale/Hoover area

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First I would like to have an email or phone conversation with a student or parent to understand what areas one needs help with and what challenges has prompted seeking help. I use this inormation to review the material myself and formulate a plan to effectively tutor. I'll review after the first session or first couple sessions to fine tune my approach.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I've taken many of these classes in high school and college and am currently studying and relearning much of this material in order to earn a teaching certificate for science education.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I've never charged for tutoring services before, so I'm not sure what the going rate would be, but we can negotiate that.
How did you get started teaching?
I earned my degree in economics and since my senior year of college I've contemplated teaching and am now working towards doing so full time.
What types of students have you worked with?
I've worked with some high school age cousins for various math classes. I'm willing to work with any student though.
