J. Allen English/Language Arts/Reading Tutoring

I am an experienced English/Language Arts/Reading professional with over 15 years experience as a public school educator. I have taught elementary, middle, and high school courses throughout my career to students of diverse backgrounds, including those trying to acquire English as a second language. I specialize in reading mastery, developmental writing, literary analysis, and STAAR test preparation. I have some experience in tutoring college English composition and literature courses. I have a Bachelor’s degree in English/Literary Studies and a Master’s degree in Education with emphasis in curriculum writing and instructional methodology.

I am passionate about student success, and I love helping people achieve their academic goals in English/Reading. My most valuable professional experiences happen at those "lightbulb moments" when students acquire mastery of a new skill and can apply it successfully.
