About
Jackie Weaver, Exceptional Minds LLC’s owner is a licensed Intervention Specialist (K-12) with over 15 years of teaching experience (at-risk youth, special education, general education, wilderness-based instruction, etc.) over a wide range of learning environments (wilderness-based, public school, charter school, STEM, etc.). Jackie is a professional educator highly qualified to provide supports in multiple core academic content areas (English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies), life-skills, executive functioning skills, study skills, and much more.
Jackie has over 13 years of remote and hybrid teaching experience throughout her career, all providing special education services. Special education services provided in an online classroom setting can be challenging, but with training and assistance, it is definitely possible to support children with special needs via online learning platforms.
Jackie’s career spans over 13 years of experience as an Intervention Specialist, 5 years of experience as a Special Education Coordinator (Intervention Coordinator), 3 years of experience as a Special Education Consultant, and a Board Certified Special Education Advocate. Jackie is equipped to provide not only tutoring services for your child but is able to effectively advocate for your child’s special education and related needs in and outside of the school setting.
I am able to assist with not only general academics (K-12th grade), but executive functioning skills (those that are needed for success in accomplishing goals) is one of my specialty focus areas. The following are some of the areas that may be covered with executive functioning: planning, organization, task initiation, metacognition, time management, self-control, working memory, flexibility, perseverance, and attention. These are skills that will not only help with school related success, but are skills that will benefit the student for a lifetime.
My goal is to provide engaging and quality sessions that are individualized to the students needs.
